Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Borough of Elmwood Park has made the decision to cancel the upcoming Town Wide Garage Sale and Rabies Clinic scheduled in May. Once we have rescheduled said events, we will notify the residents via our Borough website and Facebook page.

Thank you and stay safe.

Extension of deadline for payment of 2nd quarter taxes

Good morning Elmwood Park Residents,

In accordance with Executive Order #130 issued on April 28, 2020 by Governor Murphy, the deadline for the payment of 2nd quarter taxes has been extended to June 1, 2020.

Borough Hall is still closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, all offices are staffed and operational. If you need assistance from any of our Borough offices, please call our main number at 201-796-1457 and listen for the prompts to select the extension that you need.

Additionally, your 2nd quarter tax payments can be mailed in or dropped off at the main entrance (rear of the building) to Borough Hall.  We have attached a secure mailbox to the exterior of the building located next to the main entrance.

We have also installed a phone in the vestibule at the main entrance with a list of extensions for your convenience, should you need additional assistance.

Michael Foligno, Chief of Police/Borough Administrator

Suspension of Municipal Court sessions (3/26/20)

Municipal court sessions are suspended until Monday, April 27, 2020 in order to mitigate public exposure to COVID-19.

For this extended period, individuals scheduled to appear before the municipal court to contest a traffic or parking ticket, a minor local ordinance violation, or other matter should instead await notice of a new court date.

Defendants may continue to make payments for parking and traffic matters through the municipal court’s online payment website at NJMCdirect.com.

Due to the municipal court building being officially closed, no in-person payments can be accepted at the court window.

Defendants may also continue to mail in payments but be advised that court staff may have limited access to the court office to process those payments.

To contact the Elmwood Park municipal court office by telephone, please call 201-796-1457. You may also contact the court office via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
