Please be advised that a Special Meeting of the Elmwood Park Mayor and Council will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 4:00PM in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 182 Market Street, Elmwood Park, NJ (prior to the regularly scheduled Work Session Meeting) for the purpose of:

1 – Second & Final Reading/Public Hearing for Ordinance #20-37:

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:12-13.2b(1) COMPRISED OF A USED 2017 MEV/LSV EMT RESCUE GOLF CART

2 – Rescind Resolution R-34-20 Appointment of Risk Manager – Professional Insurance Associates

Copies of this notice were distributed to the Mayor and Council, Officers, Municipal Attorney, emailed to and published with The Record and Herald News, filed in the office of the Municipal Clerk and posted on the bulletin Board in the Municipal Building.

The Residents Assistance Program is proud to announce that over 60 families in need were helped through its Holiday Toy Drive.

We would like to thanks our local businesses, residents, families, and friends for making this possible through their generous donations.

The Elmwood Park Residents Assistance Program & Elmwood Park Police Community Relations Division is extremely thankful for Hanaim Church's toy donation to the Elmwood Park Residents Assistance Program Toy Drive.

The Residents Assistance Program conducts their annual toy drive to make a child's Christmas a little more special!!

Together we can make this year better 1 smile at a time.

Please be advised that the December 10, 2020 7:00PM Work Session Meeting will be held in person, as regularly scheduled.

Additionally, the December 10, 2020 6:00PM Special Executive/Public Meeting at 6:00PM will also be held in person.

This is to advise of a future vacancy for the above referenced position in the Elmwood Park Police Department. A Police Communications Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and transmitting pure and reliable messages, and recording other important information. They receive calls from individuals who need assistance from first responders. Once information is obtained from the caller, dispatchers activate the services necessary to respond to the nature of the call for help.This is to advise of a future vacancy for the above referenced position in the Elmwood Park Police Department. For the third year, the Mayor and Council will again be holding a collection drive for gift cards and toys for the holiday season.

Thanksgiving Collection

The RAP will be accepting monetary and grocery gift card donations to assist those residents in need during the holiday season. Please make checks payable to the RAP. All donations can be mailed or brought to the RAP Coordinator, Angela Fava at the Business Administrators Office, 182 Market Street, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407. We will again work with schools and local houses of worship to assist families in need.

The RAP will be accepting monetary donations, grocery gift cards and new unwrapped toys to assist those residents in need during the Holiday season. Donations can be brought to or mailed to the RAP Coordinator, Angela Fava at the Borough Administrator's Office or the Municipal Clerk's Office, 182 Market Street, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407. Please make checks payable to the RAP. Families in need can be referred to the RAP through the Business Administrator's Office.

SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING LOCATION AND FORMAT OF THE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2020  SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ELMWOOD PARK

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that due to the public health emergency in the State of New Jersey, as declared in Executive Order 103, the Borough will be altering its normal meeting procedures for its special Mayor and Council meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at 4PM and will conduct its public meeting by and through the means of electronic communications equipment as permitted by the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to follow best practices recommended by the United States Center for Disease Control, Borough Hall is closed to the general public and the public meeting will not be “in-person” and will be conducted electronically, solely by virtual means.

Members of the public will have the ability to provide public comments during this meeting. Members of the public may also submit public comments which will be read aloud during the Mayor and Council Meeting by way of an electronic mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. Said public comments shall be read aloud at the Mayor and Council meetings. Written public comments shall be read aloud by the Brough Clerk after all members of the public in attendance remotely/virtually who wish to provide public comment are accommodated. Written public comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes per person. Public comments shall be read from the beginning, until the time limit is reached. Multiple written public comments submitted by the same individual and/or entity shall be read in succession until the time limit is reached. The Mayor and/or the Presiding Officer may pass over duplicate written comments; however, each duplicate comment shall be noted for the record with the content summarized. If the Mayor and/or Presiding Officer elects to summarize duplicative comments, the Mayor and/or Presiding Officer must not summarize certain duplicative comments while reading other duplicative comments individually. Said written public comments must be received no later than 12:0PM the day of the Mayor and Council meeting in order to be read at the meeting. Electronic and regular mail sent shall specifically state the purpose of the correspondence is to provide for public comment at the Mayor and Council public meeting. The Mayor and Council will take formal action at this meeting.

The Borough is utilizing this format in an effort to mitigate the chance of exposure to COVID-19, as a part of the Borough’s ongoing effort to slow the rate of transmission and avoid overwhelming our treatment centers.
