SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING LOCATION AND FORMAT OF THE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2020 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ELMWOOD PARK
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that due to the public health emergency in the State of New Jersey, as declared in Executive Order 103, the Borough will be altering its normal meeting procedures for its special Mayor and Council meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at 4PM and will conduct its public meeting by and through the means of electronic communications equipment as permitted by the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to follow best practices recommended by the United States Center for Disease Control, Borough Hall is closed to the general public and the public meeting will not be “in-person” and will be conducted electronically, solely by virtual means.

Members of the public will have the ability to provide public comments during this meeting. Members of the public may also submit public comments which will be read aloud during the Mayor and Council Meeting by way of an electronic mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by regular mail or hand delivery to Erin Delaney, Borough Clerk, 182 Market Street, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407. Said public comments shall be read aloud at the Mayor and Council meetings. Written public comments shall be read aloud by the Brough Clerk after all members of the public in attendance remotely/virtually who wish to provide public comment are accommodated. Written public comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes per person. Public comments shall be read from the beginning, until the time limit is reached. Multiple written public comments submitted by the same individual and/or entity shall be read in succession until the time limit is reached. The Mayor and/or the Presiding Officer may pass over duplicate written comments; however, each duplicate comment shall be noted for the record with the content summarized. If the Mayor and/or Presiding Officer elects to summarize duplicative comments, the Mayor and/or Presiding Officer must not summarize certain duplicative comments while reading other duplicative comments individually. Said written public comments must be received no later than 12:0PM the day of the Mayor and Council meeting in order to be read at the meeting. Electronic and regular mail sent shall specifically state the purpose of the correspondence is to provide for public comment at the Mayor and Council public meeting. Information and the details regarding the virtual meeting and the details regarding participation, attendance and public comment thereat will be available on the Borough of Elmwood Park website at: www.elmwoodparknj.us.
The Mayor and Council will take formal action at this meeting.
The Borough is utilizing this format in an effort to mitigate the chance of exposure to COVID-19, as a part of the Borough’s ongoing effort to slow the rate of transmission and avoid overwhelming our treatment centers.
